Since 1986 Kennel Black Thistle has been breeding Scottish Terriers in three different colours, black, brindle and wheaten.

We aim at breeding healthy dogs, mentally healthy as well as physically. At the same time we want our Scotties to be typical of the race in appearance and in behaviour.

We have bred more than a hundred family dogs in direct line over 11 generations. Kennel Black Thistle is present at all official shows in Denmark and regularly at shows abroad.

We, the breeders, have all loved the Scotties since we were very young. Today the Scotties fill our homes with joy and challenges. Our Scotties are homebred in the true sense of the word. We breed on a hobby basis only, and as a general rule, two litters of Black Thistle puppies open their eyes to the world every year.

As for the name of the Kennel:

The thistle is the national flower of Scotland. The Scottie resembles the thistle in many ways. Like  the thistle, it is beautiful and round, but not too easy to embrace. And like  the bur of the thistle first captured, the Scottie will stay close to you, faithfully strong and unbreakable.
